Strength:

Very sharp and very fine grain. Color is natural. Excellent for still-life and indoor shooting.

Weakness:

Seems to wash out a bit under bright sun, but this film may not be designed for shooting outdoors ...

This is one of the most fine-grain print films that I have tried. The ability of this film to reveal fine details is nothing but outstanding. Like many before me, however, I , too, found it to wash out a bit under bright sun. This may limit the use of Supra as an all around film for shooting in bright light conditions. I suspect that Supra may be designed primarily for studio work and still life, not for outdoor shooting. Fuji Reala does a much better job in handling extreme lighting conditions. The color of Reala is more bold and vivid; Supra by contrast is more muted. I personally like the green rendered by Supra, which is more natural to me.

Strength:

Can reveal incredible and stunning detail and really surprise you.

Weakness:

Skin tones may be off, but I believe can be corrected with a warming filter (81b).

This film has the potential to surprise you and disappoint you. The detail can be absolutely stunning and sharp to the point that (depending on the subject - I was shooting people and trees) you think you're looking at a 3D picture. Downside: you'll want to warm your shots of people with perhaps an 81b for outdoor shots. And use flash. I'm still searching for the perfect outdoor film that offers excellent skin tones. Hope that helps.

Strength:

Great Grain
Excelent overall color

Weakness:

Color for bright light, ouch

Great overall film. Great grain and color rendition but seemed to wash out in bright light. I was able to fix this by dropping down a 1/2 -1 f stop and also remind your lab to turn off the color adjustment. There you go, problem solved for bright light. This film is, in my opinion, the best Kodak has to offer.

Strength:

Reasonably bright colours, nice blues in sky (without polarizer)does not need to be refrigerated, good resolution

Weakness:

Colour balance a bit off - too much yellow/green, lacks a bit in shadow detail

This is a good film. The colours are nice and bringt and adequately punchy, the blue sky comes out very well, but the yellows in parachutes and parasails are too green. But overall, this is a decent film. I'd still stick with NPS160 for ALL my portrait needs, but for outdoor landscapes I have to find something different - either Reala or NPC160 (or maybe there's another Kodak film worth trying).

Customer Service

Never needed - web page is adequate (but Fuji's Technical Specs are more comprehensive)

Strength:

Very cheap (compare to other professional films)
Fine grain
Good colour reproduction

Weakness:

None

Kodak Supra 100 may not be the best professional film in its class compared to Reala. But in Thailand, the professional labs from Kodak have much better and consistant quality control. At the end the print give you the final image that you have captured. The price is also unbeatable, even chaper than the Kodak Gold or Fuji Superia. I have recently taken a picture (night shoot) for my work and enlarge to 20x30". The grain is just fine. My boss like the picture so much that he just want to take away.
