Strength:

Excellent sharpness
Lively contrast and color

Weakness:

None

I shoot macro nature and normally Provia F 100. However, I recently ran out of Provia and shot some Ektachrome 100S on the same shoot. I noticed that the Ektachrome version of red was very different than Provia which produces a deep Chinese red where Ektachrome rendered a bright cheery red--very different hue. I also shot a grasshopper that was less than 3/4 of an inch in lenght. I was awe struck by Ektachrome 100S sharpness and contrast. I'm going to buy less Provia and more Ektachrome. I would recommend trying a color difference test to steadfast Fuji shooters.

Strength:

Good saturation with very clean whites. Very fine grain. Good pushablility.

Weakness:

Would like slightly more saturation in daylight.

I use E100s under cloudy or flat lighting conditions with an 81a. This yields great results (it is my poor weather alternative to E100VS). Able to record subtle, pastel shades very accurately.

Strength:

really good blue tones

Weakness:

the greens are terrible

I usually shoot Fujichrome but I thought I should try something different... the blues wre really good, but the greens were washed out and terrible looking. I kinda wish I would of stuck with Fuji.

Strength:

Medium Contrast
Accurate Color - only SLIGHT increase in saturation.
Very Fine Grain

Weakness:

None really. Sure things go a bit blue in the shade - but an accurate film should! Use a filter for best shade shooting. I get great flesh tones in slight overcast, and sun lit indoors.
(BTW-I don't see any problem with green - mentioned in other review)

For outdoor travel photography this film is it!

Stay away from E100SW. It yields an ugly blue sky with magenta cast. Even grays have a magenta cast - bad news. E100SW is a studio portrait film.

E100S produces nice blues skys, without going too rich in color. (Use a polarizer if you want heavy dark blue sky.) This film has a nice neutral color balance. It's med contrast increases ones "yield" of mixed light situations - don't forget to bracket here though! The slightly increased color saturation cuts trough that bit of atmospheric haze that is often evident even when shooting with shorter lenses(see my review of Agfa Precisa). Yea, this is good stuff!!

Customer Service

Great - called Kodak questioning need for cold storage during trip. Said the film will safely endure anything I can. No problems!

Strength:

This is a very accurate film.

Weakness:

Could be cheaper.

I use this slide film on occasion when accuracy is required. For example, this is an extremely good choice for a scientific (accurate colors) look at flowers and other plants. For "artsy" shots, a film with more saturation would probably be a better choice. Others I have talked with seem to like this film for product work where, again, accuaracy is needed.

As mentioned by others, this film will react like the neutral films of yore. You will need to think about it going cold and using the appropriate filter under certain lighting conditions.

A quality film that does what it was designed to do.

Strength:

Fine grain
Saturated without going over the top
Reasonable latitude

Weakness:

A little pricey

Probably one of the best all-around ISO 100 slide films I have shot. A little more saturated than the consumer slide films without giving wacky color balance in shadows or other tricky lighting conditions. Enough latitude that even ham-handed print-film shooters will get a high percentage of good frames with modern metering systems.

This is a no-nonsense, dependable, color-accurate, high-quality film. It is currently my standard ISO 100 slide film.
