Model Reviewed: TLA 140 Flash

Strength:

Small size, but great power.

Weakness:

Cost (look on eBay, etc. instead) & lack of power control.

Good little flash, but too expensive (@ least when new & bought separately).

Model Reviewed: TLA 140 Flash

Strength:

Compact, featherlight weight. Solidly built.

Weakness:

None.

Nice flash, very solidly built, extremely lightweight.
It's a little flash for a lot of money $180. But seems to perform more than sufficient for the G1/G2 system under most conditions.
But with the current Contax G1 kit (body + 35mm len + flash), it is almost given away free ... check out the G1 kit ... take the leap of faith like I did ... my Canon slr is up for sale soon.
3 Stars for price/value if bought seperately
but 4 stars value if part of the G1 kit.

Strength:

Small, compact & well constructed. Flash tube far enough away from lens axis so there is not too much of a red eye problem. Fits in shirt pocket easily.

Weakness:

Takes expensive lithium batteries. Fairly low guide number.

A no frills flash which I love because it is so compact. It would be even better if it had rear curtain sync and easier ways to do fill flash and flash compensation.
