Strength:

Rugged, very high energy output with a guide that exceeds most other units in it's class. Accuracy of stobe is excellent and sychs perfectly with my Gossen meter as well as the built-in meter in my cameras.

Weakness:

Requires a battery package of 6AA batteries. Would be great to have an extra pack in the pocket.

The Metz 45cl-3 is a great flash unit.

Customer Service

Have used this strobe for 6 years without any difficulty whatsoever.

Strength:

Very powerful. nice bounce/swivel head.
Many accessories available.

Weakness:

Heavy, and all that weight is on one side of the camera, since this is a handle-mount unit, so it can be awkward to use. This is outweighed by the power of the unit in my opinion.

good workhorse flash unit, although I prefer the less-powerful (and lighter) Vivitar 283.

Customer Service

never used it.

Strength:

Good output power, natural color temperature, stady output, interchangable to suit other brand of camera with TTL function by only replace the adapter cord.

Weakness:

Heavy, slow recycle time even using Metz NC battery. Don't continue fire at full power, the very high temperature will break the tube glass.

If you always need to take family pictures at night, use soft box for portraiture or love to have gentle lighting from corner to corner, try this one. For work that time is concerned, don't think it's your buddy.

Customer Service

Not good in Hong Kong. The last repair need 1 month. Repair cost near to buy a new one.

Strength:

Very powerful
Strong casing
Good auto mode

Weakness:

Heavy.
Use 9v battery, hard to make by youself.
No E-TTL for Canon EOS.
No zoom head.

Since this unit powered by 9v battery. Almost imposible to make a DIY rechargeable battery. Don't fire many shots at short time. I tried burned the on/off switch by high current power. But the customer service is great. Repair it less then 5 days. At last, it is no E-ttl (normal TTL only) funtion.

Customer Service

Very good!
