Strength:

TTL metering at macro distances, positionable heads for total light control. Easily switches between one, the other, or both heads.

Weakness:

They charge extra for an adaptor to fit the E-Series 50mm/f2 macro lens. DC power supply costs $150 -- should be included! Proprietary head and DC cords make hacking difficult.

This is a great flash for macro photography. I use it on jewelry for sparkle, since shooting with a Cloud Dome or other such diffuser tends to make some jewelry go flat and lifeless. My clients want something that looks different from stuff they can do on their own!

It also allows you to use macro lenses hand-held, which is useful for nature photography, to capture tiny moving critters.

Being able to move both heads to any position around the lens means you can create the lighting you want, rather than take what's available. Both heads have modeling lamps, but they are rather dim, and don't help much unless you're in a dark environment. I find putting my 4"x5" camera's dark cloth over my head and the subject makes the modeling lights much more effective.

I am in the process of hooking up a T-8 and T-10 (OM System) ringlights to it, via replacement cords I got from John Hermiston http://www.Zuiko.com who specializes in Olympus repair. I'll put comments up when that project is completed.
