I picked this up after my Minolta Auto Meter F was stolen, I hope that person is happy, because I sure am after that it made me go out and buy a Flash meter 5. I am happy. Dead on exposure.

Strength:

Well-built, accruate... All glamour, fashion, portrait photographer(s) have one!!

Weakness:

Be patience!? Many button that you have to press...

If you plan to buy ONE meter only, you should choose Sekonic 508/608. But if you like a PURE flash meter, Minolta V is your choice. It is accruate, well-shaped, well-designed, but too many buttons that you have to press, as other reviewer above said. It worths what you paid!!

Strength:

Easy to use, super accurate, and reliable.

Weakness:

Expensive

Great meter with lots of functions that don't intrude on the basic function of the meter. You can make it as complex or as simple as you need. I also love the Polaroid button to handle the different film speed of a Polaroid so no more calculating in your head. Someone was thinking when they made this meter.

very reliable and accurate and right on. you can also calibrate to your standard if you find the default setting not to your liking. personally i think minolta has done a magnificent job with their calibration. the only meter i would consider using i also have a sekonic 508 which i seldom use; it's a good meter but i the flash meter v. i just wish it came with the refelective light attachment like the built in one with sekonic L508. other than that i would not trade for the world. the ULTIMATE light meter

Strength:

Simple operation

Weakness:

This meter is so accurate and reliable. All the operation comes so easy with well thought out manual. I highly recommend for any kind of situation photography. I kind of like the new sekonic 608 but too expensive and too many information flashes at the same time , rather confuse me.

Strength:

accurate
simple yet flexible

Weakness:

price (mine at least)

Agree with others, also the auto light has been helpful for dark location shots (museum exhibits). Have enjoyed using it an would recommend it to anyone who can spend a little more on their meter. Spot meter is an option you can add on. Also the flexibility of its built in commands are great (ie., flat surface reader included, full-stop or 1/2 stop option, reads in 1/10th stop increments!)

Strength:

Accuracy. Studiowork.

Weakness:

Size, Price, poor manual.
To make a simple average reading you have to press six buttons!!! And this should be a professional product. On the Mastersix this is made with two buttons. I hate this meter.

If you love pressing buttons this meter is for you, otherwise look for something else.
