You would just have to look into this Product youself, I could go on and sound like a Ad for Photogenic,LOL.

Weakness:

Some would say the Price. But after working with : Britek's and Calumet/Bowens as well, The price you pay to have a Light head you will most likely have for 30 years( thats right some of us have used the same photogenic lights for 30 years) Well, You do the Math ! and Compare.

I have worked with Photogenic Lights for many, many years. They are made to last a life time and if you nose around some of the older studios, will find Thay do! Made strong and accurate, displaying th most beautiful even light. I have really enjoyed working with Photogenic Power Lights (the old Flash Masters) but, I'm so happy I purchased the 2500DR's. From the Housing to that wonderful Flash Tube- Real Quality discribes these lights and the Photogenic company

Customer Service

The Customer Service at Photogenic Must be commended as well!!! As I did my resurch on exactly witch Light Heads I would Purchase, They were wonderful! I did not leave messages with a mashine, or fill out a email and wait. I called the Photogenic Company and Spoke to a HUMAN!! Who took the time to go over My Options, Never once did I hear" ok are we done...Please hold.... you can find that info here....."before I was done. Nope they took the time with no rush at all and answered every question and then asked " Now , is there anything else I can help you with today? If you need anything else, before you purchase, just call me back, my name is..." sorry, It sounds like a commercial but it is ALL TRUE! Great Product and Great Customer Service *****as well.

Strength:

Modeling light of 250 watts is plenty powerful. Unlike most 1000+ w/s units, this is only 8 inches long, and only weighs 7.9 pounds. Eclipse umbrella is an excellent addition to this fine light.

Weakness:

The release lever to take the included 7.5 inch reflector on and off is a bit scimpy. While on, the reflector will rattle and shake. Auto dump feature is helpful if you are changing power from 500 ws to 400 ws; however, any large amount of change takes much longer.

This is review of the PL2 Powerlight 2500DR. This is a great monolight! For the money, it is one of the best one can buy. Digital readout is excellent, buttons great, and the aluminum construction of the light is of optimum standards. I use this single light to illuminate entire 75 men football teams, and that is only at three quarters power!

Customer Service

I haven't yet experienced problems with this light; however, my light was supposed to come with a sync cord and there wasn't one in the box.

Strength:

250 watt modeling lights

Weakness:

Too powerful, to place directly behind a subject and light the background. Unless you use slow speed film. I would not use close for a hair light either.

I have two 1250 powerlights. They are very reliable.

Strength:

Powerful! PL 1250 produces 500 ws at full power. Modeling light is 250 watts. Both modeling light and flash are infinitely variable from 0 to full throttle. Very well built with fan cooling.

Weakness:

Haven't discovered any.

I do not currently own a set of these lights, but I have used them in photography classes and from friends. They are very well built, powerful and can take on a vast array of light modifying accessories. The stands are air cushioned and well built. I will be buying a set sometime later this year. They are also a good dollor value. $400 will get you a PL1250 with umbrella an air cushioned stand from B&H.

Strength:

Very easy to work with and extremley accurate. I have the PL2500 and love the 6 F stop working range. The light also came with an air cushioned stand and an Eclipse umbrella.

Weakness:

The stand is a littel shakey. Most of the time I mount it on my Manfrotto light stand. Accesories are a little pricey for this monolight.

Overall a very good light.

Customer Service

I owned my monolight for one day and got one hell of a shock when I plugged in the synch cord. The light was still B&H's problem. They exchanged it for me immediately!
