Strength:

Easy to use, fairly affordable.

Weakness:

Wish it had a user replacable flash tube. And, be VERY careful if you use with a softbox, I have seen examples where the casing warped as a result! Best to use umbrellas (or one of Novatrons'' fan cooled heads) instead.

The Novatron standard (as well as the various stop-down models) are all very easy to use, and very durable. The Modeling light is a 100 watt tungsten, and has a basic household style socket, so that it is easily replacable, you can even use a standard household bulb in a pinch. The Flash tube is hard wired into the unit, so if it ever fails or breaks, you can''t easily replace it yourself. The Novatron system has all the accessories you could ask for. I have to say, I have used them for over 8 years, not one complaint.
