Strength:

* Fast (f2; good gaussian blur, Big DOF).
* Wide (35mm,63°).
* Light (210g; EF17-35=545g).
* Autofocus (AF/MF)
* Sharp (7ele,5grps).
* Close focus (25cm).
* DOF Scale.
* Minimal distortion.

Weakness:

Focus speed & noise non-USM) is *NOT* a weakness, You can always MF; You should MF more anyway, take your time.

Ideal if you enjoy: candids, avaliable light & landscapes & good value for money.

Strength:

light weight,cheap.

Weakness:

slow auto focus, detail is no where near as close as its higher quality brother the F 1.4

If you need a serious 35mm fixed lens, fork out the money for the Canon 35mm 1.4. better all around quality.
