Strength:

Straight to 1:1. Front element a bit recessed to protect from accidental damage. Hardly any distortion (it is a Planar design). Lies well in hand with the RTS III, may be a bit front heavy with lighter bodies.

Weakness:

None.

Solid macro lens, straight 1:1 mag. My workhorse lens. with a 67 mm filter thread. Use a B&W UV filter for protection. Sharpness is excellent also when viewed with 10x loupe on light table or scanning at 4000 dpi. Have also used it with 50 mm 1.4 as a stacked combo. Vignetting occurrs with macro between infinity and 1:3 setting. With extension ring set, an almost continuous range form infinity to 4:1 is possible.
