Strength:

Solid bild, sharp, beautiful bokeh, AF fast if limited

Weakness:

None so far

A great lens, although it's a first generation lens (version without a focus hold button), it performs very well. The AF is fast on a 9xi or 700si, if the AF limiter is used. It has a beautiful bokeh. I'm now in a clinch if I use the 1.4/85 or if I want to use the Macro 2.8/100 instead. It's a very versatile lens.

Strength:

Longest working distance in its class, built quility, highest optical performance, convinient feature like a displaying depth of field and magnification ratio from the new D type lens. Unlike other this type of macro lens,The optical performance from infinity to macro was consistently outstanding. Fast af speed for normal distance subject. and on and on

Weakness:

hard to think out

Most this type macro lens are exellent. But Minolta has been estabilished best macro lens system over the years. and this lens is the reason why. This lens and pentax 85/1.4 were the only lens that I gave a perfect score. This the lens minolta user should be proud of. The closest competition was canon 100/2.8 USM which was awesomw lens thou
