Strength:

1000mm focal length Decent optics for a mirror lens Solid tripod support.

Weakness:

It's a mirror lens (personal bias)

While at Chuck Ruben's I saw photos taken with this mirror lens, so this is a review of someone elses photos with this lens. In general I don't like mirror lenses, too hard to keep steady, limited depth of view, poor contrast. The results I saw were impressive, for a mirror lens. I have a spotting scope of similar mirror constrction, the Pentax lens is a much better optic. I suspect a 500mm f4.5 Pentax with a 2X-L will return comperable results.
