Pentax Telephoto SMCP-FA 135mm f/2.8 IF Autofocus Lens 35mm Primes

DESCRIPTION

The 135mm focal length has long been a favorite of photographers, being great for portraits with well-blurred backgrounds as well as creating a compression roughly equivalent to the human eye when focusing on a particular element of the landscape. The SMCP-FA 135mm features internal focus to keep length constant and use of circular filters simple.

Strength:

quick focusing. Sharp, especially when closed down a stop or two. Seems rugged enough for a modern polycarbonate lens (polycarbonate is actually more dimesionally stable than metal under temperature extremes.

Weakness:

Posycarbonate lenses feel plasticky, and the focusing is a bit loose (because of the autofocus) making the thin manual focus ring a bit hard to use. A typical modern day lens. But the focus is accurate, so I guess it's OK for what it is.

A good fast 135mm autofocus lens. Intended for autofocus based on the thin, but still usable, manual focus ring.
