Strength:

Dirt cheap, light weight ( also a weakness )

Weakness:

Very fragile, lots of lens flare, slow to focus, not terribly sharp, Colour saturation wrong.

I have the Vivitar verson but the design is the same. I needed more reach than my 300 mm so I decided to give this a try knowing it wouldn't be good. If you can afford better please do your self a favour but it was better than the real cheap f8 500mm preset lenses and using a spotting scope with camera adaptor. Pictures are not as bad as I expected but they are only good for 4x6 prints. If you can't afford better, don't mind donut shapes in the out of focus area well guess you don't have a choice. The only real good reason I actually still have and use it is it's small and light and I can go for a distant shot with b&w film ( the colour saturation is terrible ) while back packing and save some weight.
