Strength:

Sharp and cheap macro lens. Metal lens mount ring. Great value for money.

Weakness:

1:1 with close-up lens.

I'm a dentist. I've used this lens in my Minolta SRT 102 with a ring flash for shoting mouth for about 3 years without problems. It is sharp and cheap. It is incredibly lightweight. I don't like the 1:1 close-up lens but it is a great value for money. We can use it like a portrait lens with good results without the close up lens. It has a metal lens mount ring and a DOF scale. It takes vastly better pictures than a mid-range mid-priced zoom. It has a good response in use with ring flash with difficult conditions of the oral cavity. It has a non-rotating front element and a bayonet type lens hood mount. It is very easy to work with PL filters. I love to use this filters to diminish the reflections of the flash in teeth and mucosa covered by saliva.

Strength:

Cheap, very sharp for the price, light weight, 1:1.

Weakness:

need attachement to achieve 1:1 which make focusing so close, plastic body.

Great value for the price. The sharpness actually quite satisfy me, but I just hate the attachment. Overall, great macro lens for the price.

Strength:

Light, Small, CHEAP!!!, Pretty Sharp, especially for the money. Good portrait focal length

Weakness:

f/3.5 instead of f/2.8, Need adapter to get to 1:1, Cheap plasticky feel.

Its a great lens for the money and weighs nothing. But, on the fipside, you get what you pay for, its kind of slow, it doesn't focus to 1:1 without the adapter and its plastic

Strength:

Cheap with more than acceptable quality

Weakness:

f3.5, the 1:1 adaptor

Sure, it is plasticky and a little slow. It is also 3 or 4 times cheaper than most other macro lenses. The results are surprisingly good. An excellent purchase for macro photography on a budget, you will not be disappointed.

Strength:

Cheap! Cheap!
Sharp image even 11x14 print.

Weakness:

Plastic, but what you want at this price?

AF is a little slow. Need a close up (came with)lens to make 1:1 ratio. Plastic barrel. BUT, the result can same as 3-4x more expensive lens when up to 8x10 print. And this lens even good for people shoulder shot. You cannot asking more at this price. Sure will be happy.
