construction This lens came in package deal with my Canon Digital Rebel. It works pretty decently. Images are quite sharp at the center, but tend to get fuzzy near the edges. With the 1.7x image magnification, it is a little bit on the narrow side for digital SLRs. I also have not really felt deprived by the f-stops provided. The autofocus is fast and quiet. One thing that bothers me is that the front end of the lens can move around more than it feels like it should. Otherwise the lens feels pretty solidly constructed, despite being mostly plastic. The manual focus ring is quite decent. Overall, for the price, it is a fine general purpose lens. Similar Products Used: n/a -- is my first and only lens |

Slow AF I've always been a user of a Canon A1 with FD lenses, but finally took the jump into the wonderful world of auto focus. This is the first EF lens I've had. The only reason I purchased this lens is because the EF 24-70mm f/2.8L lens is on backorder. I just purchased a Canon EOS-1V and needed a lens to use in the meantime. Customer Service None needed yet. Similar Products Used: FD 28mm FD 50mm f/1.4 FD 50mm f/1.8 FD 135mm FD 70-210mm |
