Strength:

Sharpness, beautiful color rendition, 2.8 aperture enables out of focus backgrounds and high shutter speeds to minimize effects from camera shake

Weakness:

no problems yet

I really like this lens. The colors it produces are beautiful. I have a tough time holding the camera steady for telephoto shots and being able to use the fast shutter speeds really helps. It is heavy though, so rent it if you can for a weekend to see how you like the handling (I bought one after renting one...)

Strength:

SHARP! FAST! BRIGHT!
One of the few BEST Canon Lens availble ( as said by Canon).

Weakness:

not at all

Great Lens worth the price. After you buy this lens and start shooting, you WILL know and see the quality is there and will NEVER try any other lens other than the "L" lens.

Strength:

It is a dream lens, optically and mechanically. It is the best 70/80-200 AF lens out there.

Weakness:

Weight, size and cost but that is the price you have to pay to get a lens like this.

The lens belongs in every EOS users lens collection (if you can afford it). The best lens in 35 mm (unless an IS version comes out)

Customer Service

Never have had need for it.

Very sharp, fast, versitle

I couldn't live with out this one. Lens always performs. Great sharpness and contrast. Excellent with 1.4x and pretty good with 2x. If they bring this out in IS it will be a dream lens.

Model Reviewed: EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM

Strength:

Very sharp, works with EF convertors, USM allows full-time manual focusing and is quiet. Fast and constant maximum aperature is very nice.

Weakness:

The section of the barrel in front of the focusing ring has gotten a little loose a couple of times, so I had to tighten some screws. Annoying!

With this lens and a 1.4X I can cover everything from 70-280mm, so most of the time it's the only telephoto I need. It's very sharp alone or with the 1.4X. I'm not too impressed with how it (or any other lens) works with the 2X. Overall, it's a great lens. The only way to make it better would be to add Image Stabilization.
