Strength:

It came with my HTsi camera. Attractive-looking lens that is contoured to feel good in your hand.

Weakness:

Poor sharpness, feels cheap, plasticky, and the narrow (manual) focusing ring is an absolute joke.

I dumped this turkey not too long after I bought my camera, and replaced it with a (sharp and very affordable) 50mm f/1.7 lens. It was possibly the smartest thing I have ever done. However, this mediocre lens will be just fine for beginners, or someone making the jump from point-and-shoot cameras to SLR's.

Strength:

Attractive Silver coating

Weakness:

Very ordinary AF
Lack of sharpness and color

This lens came with the dynax 500si and while the camera has proved to be quite good. The lens is nothing more than an expensive football. If your objective is to take nice photos, get something else. If your objective is to play football, I recommend steelcapped boots. Happy punting.
