Model Reviewed: AF 28-85mm f/3.5-4.5 Maxxum

Strength:

Excellent optical quality over its very useful range. Fewer optical compromises over this range than in the longer ranged 28-135

Weakness:

Macro function works at the 28mm end, not the 85mm. Camera reverts to manual focus during the macro range.

One of the rarities in the Minolta lens line-up. No longer in production, so highly sought after used. Buy one these, whilst you can, rather than the current 28-80.
