Strength:

Size, weight and price.

Weakness:

Unusable at the full aperture and at the very long focal length.

I use it as a "spare" lens when I need a long focal. It provide good pictures between 70 and 135mm if you can use a small aperture (8-11) and is very easy to carry because of its size and weight. It must be used in very good conditions. Don't try to use it at the full aperture or over the 135mm, unless you just want keep a trace of an event and don't care about the poor quality of the final picture.

Strength:

It is well built lens at an affordable price that has held up well to years of hard use. It is not prone to flare.

Weakness:

None

A good value for the price that would be a wise investment for someone who does not need a high speed telephoto lens.

Customer Service

Never had a proble with the lens. I had the camera body repaired locally once.

Strength:

Light, easy to handle

Weakness:

not very well built, too plastic.
slow focusing
rotating front-element

Not a bad lens for beginners, quality is OK (better than the 28-200 lens) and is resonably priced. I use it once or twice a year and take it on trips just because it is light and small.

For a reasonable price zoom lens. This is one zoom lens you'll find great to have in your line up when you encounter those dificult to get to shots. Although, I am a little disappointed with it's macro capabilities.
