Strength:

Absolutely a lens you can take good images with, by stopping down to f/8-11 But... :

Weakness:

This was a totally unnessesary lens. Here Nikon tried to "upgrade" their superb AF 28-80 f/3.3-5.6G, by adding a meagre 20mm at the end of the zoom-range. What a joke! The result? A MUCH bigger lens, with the extra 80-100mm of inferior quality to the lower range. AND by stretching the design to 100mm, the lens also became a bit worse below 80mm. In fact there is no focal-lenght or any aspect in witch this lens equals its little brother. Avoid! You'll be much better off by using the superior, smaller and lighter AF 28-80 f/3.3-5.6G, and cropping in the last 20mm if you must.
