AF28-200mm f/3.5-5.6D IF Zoom-Nikkor
Strength:
One for all travelling lens.
Weakness:
One of the slow zoom lens and take pricy 72mm filter. Min focusing distance can be closer I bought this lens as my travelling lens. It has never let me down so far. Deliver good sharp, contrasty pictures. Lens hood may seem bulky. Customer Service None needed so far Similar Products Used: 28-105/3.5-4.5, 70-210/4-5.6 |

Strength:
Reasonably priced, compact, versatile
Weakness:
Sharpness is compromised at full zoom; not even close to a real "macro" Good choice if you're only able to carry one all-purpose lens. It has limitations though and if you're doing a lot of close-up work or find yourself using the full 200 zoom all the time, you'd be better off with going with the traditional two lens combination of 28-70 and 80-200 Customer Service Never needed on any Nikon products Similar Products Used: Nikon 80-200, Sigma 100-300 |

Strength:
Nice zoom range, nikon build, smooth, nice size, good optics.
Weakness:
Not as close focusing as I would like, some kind of 1:2 or 1:3 at all magnifications would have been great. when comparing all 28-200 range, this is your best choice. However I think that optically and technically speaking the 24-120 is a better choice Customer Service not needed Similar Products Used: 24-120 Nikkor, 28-200 tamron, 35-300 Tokina, sigma 28-200. The two choices are the both nikons because of optics and handling |

Strength:
wide range of focal lengths
Weakness:
no macro! Lens great if you enjoy taking sports photography. However this lens is fairly slow--terrible shooting in low light. If you enjoy shooting small things, this is not the lens for you. It is very limited in its ability to capture images of anything small. My suggestion is to purchase the 28-105mm lens, 1.7ft minimum focusing distance, and 1:2.74 maxmimum reproduction setting (macro) and a 80-200mm or 70-300mm. Similar Products Used: 28-105mm |

For those beginners who had a cracked on his head on deciding which type of lens he should buy.....TRY THIS~!!!! I'm specialise in landscape photography as a amatuer, and at 28mm with my len, i can get a wide angle of view....and at a 200mm, i can get a close up at some other things, great for an architecture photography.......well.....nothing speak for than personal experience... Zoom is quick, Great look, Prism lens and not a cheap plastic lens
Weakness:
Heavy. Taking out and fixing the lens to the body takes time I have been using SLR's from Minolta (120mm - now its an antique) and was using Pentax K1000 for a while. Similar Products Used: Pentax |

AF28-200mm f/3.5-5.6D IF Zoom-Nikkor
Strength:
Versatility- wide range enables me to carry fewer lenses. Smooth zoom and focus, good finish quality.
Weakness:
Close focus is not adequate. Even at widest angle, when you want to get close, it can't. Requires me to carry A very versatile lens for travel, but it probably can't be your only lens. You'll find you need something for close focusing, either a macro or a wide angle. Customer Service None necessary so far, but past experience with Nikon has always been good.
