Strength:

Sharp enough in the center, even wide open!

Weakness:

But it never gets as good in the sides or corners, which is the whole point of buying a lens that show more things out there! So all of Nikons wide-zooms are quite unusable and not worth the money. (save for the 14-24/2.8) For the asking price, this is laughably bad. Take two images with the 18-55mm instead, an you have the whole scene in better quality!

Weakness:

The exorbitant price made this lens unpopular, enthusiasts going behind Tamron or Sigma. I am fine with this lens which I borrowed from my friend for testing, went well. I am not planning to go Nikkor 12-24, price factor.

Moderate.
