Strength:

cheap
small filter size
good lens coating

Weakness:

plastic like
distortion

This is a fine cheap lens. It give fine picture just don't compare it to other lens. Sometimes it give acceptable sharp and good color. I used this lens for 8 years not in a good shape any more but the optic still the same (heard that some lens get softer and softer after using for a while). Get it if you don't what to spend much for a lens and don't serious about taking picture.

Strength:

Dependable lens, provides good pictures except at 80 mm end where this a minor loss of clarity.

Weakness:

Used the lens for last 2 years no problems as yet. Flimsy in manual focus mode.

Good lens for a beginner.

Model Reviewed: SMCP-F 35mm-80mm f/4-5.6

Strength:

It's OK. Generally sharp at all apertures, very lightweight, smooth movements.

Weakness:

None

A good beginner zoom that is well paired with any low end Pentax. One might be better off buying a 50 1.2 or 1.4 and then save pennies for a faster zoom like a Sigma 28-70 2.8.
