    Strength:

SMC coating - lightweight - fast and exact autofocus - still with aperture ring - 58mm diameter

    Weakness:

Plastic bajonett - rotating front lens -

Very interresting range 28-90mm - on my PENTAX *istDL 42-135mm. Extremly light-weight 195gr. Newest PENTAX SMC coating. Better optical construction with 12 elements in 10 groups than the PENTAX SMC P-FA 28-80 lens with only 8 elements in 8 groups - it is better corrected than the 28-80. I tested it against the PENTAX SMC P-FA 28-80 and the older PENTAX F 28-80 3.5-4.5 (non-SMC) and the TAMRON AF 28-80 Asph. and the PENTAX DA 18-55 kit-lens
In all cases the fotos made with the PENTAX SMC P-FA 28-90 have more details, are sharper and colorbalance was better so i sold the other lenses.
Also manual focussing is possible and handling is better than with the PENTAX DA 18-55.
