    Strength:

    Light. Cheap.

    Weakness:

SLLLLLLOOOOW. Soft as a down comforter. Cheaply built.

What a piece of junk. I got suckered into buying this lens when I first got my Digital Rebel, since I couldn't afford a good supertelephoto. What a mistake. It is a truly horrible piece of equipment that I would not reccommend to my worst enemy.

    Strength:

great price for such a range fairly sharp lightweight meter scale

    Weakness:

long about 7 inches plastic filter mount

Can't beat the price for this lens. The lens is sharp and has good color at 100mm. It is sharp at 400mm and quite neutral in color. It is built well with a metal Pentax mount but with a plastic filter mount. It is quite long at about 7 inches but is manageable. This is a great lens for the value. The pictures have been very pleasing with 35mm film and processed to 4 X 6 prints. The meter scale is very useful for manual focus.
