Strength:

Good lens for the price. Sharp focus and lightweight.

Weakness:

Tele/Macro switch is difficult to flip. A shorter focusing distance would be nice.

It's a great lens to supplement my Minolta HTsi Plus camera.

Customer Service

Strength:

Inexpensive
Lightweight
No zoom creep
Macro
fairly quick focus
5 year warranty
excellent company to deal with

Weakness:

no FTM focus, but for $200, can't really expect that. Some have complained about the macro switch being tight, but mine isn't.

Best money I've ever spent on a lens. I took a series of the same shot with my 28-105mm Canon USM, 85mm 1.8 Canon USM, and the 70-300; one right after the other, all at F8 & 85mm. At a print size of 4x6 (from a good lab), looking with a magnifying glass, there was no difference...none.. not in sharpness, contrast, or color. I'm sure at larger prints sizes, there would have to be some difference, but probably not a tremendous amount. Considering this comparison is against Canon's 85mm 1.8, that's saying a lot!
If you're going to use it for 4x6 or 8x10 prints, you couldn't possibly go wrong buying it.

Strength:

Good clarity througout range. Easy to operate, especially for beginner.
Outstanding for price.

Weakness:

A bit loud and slow to focus, especially in dim light.

If you are in the market for an inexpensive lens that does all this, then you should purchase this lens. Most people tat only take photos casually will appreciate the value of such a diverse lens.

Strength:

Not too heavy but not too light.
Zoom doesn't seem to creep.
Smooth manual focus.
1:2 macro.

Weakness:

Autofocus seems horribly slow at all focal lengths (i normally manual focus though but my family sometimes uses my EOS IX and i need good AF for them).

I haven't bought this lense but as i am considering the possibilites of which telephoto lense I might buy i think this is a good choice.
