Cheap, great zoom range, decent sharpness and construction.
Weakness:

Strength:
Nice zoom range, low cost for value. Macro feature adequate for occasional use.
Weakness:
Not a very fast lens, somewhat slow to focus as well. First long lens I could afford. Glad to have the 300mm when I need it, outdoors! A bit heavy, needs tripod support always. Great lens hood.
