Tamron Adaptall SP 28-105mm f/2.8 LD Aspherical (IF) 35mm Zoom

Tamron Adaptall SP 28-105mm f/2.8 LD Aspherical (IF) 35mm Zoom

DESCRIPTION

Manual focus - Adaptall mount

This lens establishes a benchmark as a standard lens, extending from a wide 28mm all the way to 105mm telephoto, all with a fast constant 2.8 maximum aperture. The use of four large diameter aspherical elements and three LD glass elements reduces various aberrations while minimizing the fall-off of light at the corners.

Strength:

Quality glass, comfortable ergonomics, versatile focal range.

Purchased this lens for concert photography, and I''m very happy with the initial results! Lens performs well in low light situations as it should at f2.8. 28-110 allows for a wide range of composition options at close range and distances. Versatile enough to be the only lens needed in concert (or many other) situations. Not cheap, but nice glass!

Strength:

F/stop and focal lenght, but all of my images have been sharp, and clear even under low light.

Weakness:

weight, but you get use to it.

I love the Lens. I been travel in Europe for the Past 5 Years and the focal lenght and fast F/stop combination is excellent. I liked it so much I bought it again after my photo equipment got stolen in Italy on a weekend trip.

Strength:

Terrific for low light levels; great zoom capabilities. Allows for a shallow depth of field in portraits.

Weakness:

The only other drawback is the weight of the glass. Thats the price you pay for a straight f2.8 zoom.

Purchased the lens with my Fugi S-1 Pro digital camera. ($100 rebate) A great lens; sharp easy to use. Very good for available light shots. Zoom capabilities are great. One problem with using it with the Fugi is that the size blocks some to the light when using the built-in flash. This is not a weakness of the lens, but a flash problem. I must use my TTL Starblitz for flash when using this lens.
