Strength:
No changing lenses. Reasonable weight.
Weakness:
SLOW on the long end. Not extremely sharp, nor are the colors spectacular. On an Elan II, the giant lens hood blocks the left focusing assist beam and the built in flash. It's pretty decent for travel and making 4x6 pictures. I haven't used it too much. Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: Tokina AT-X 100 to 300/F4.0, Canon 35-105/F3.5 |

Strength:
The one lens to travel with! Very smooth zoom, and lock switch is a blessing. Very fast focusing with a Pentax ZX-7.
Weakness:
Speed could be a minus, but with 800 film, I had no situation where it was a hindrance, daylight or dark, on a recent trip to Vegas. I highly recommend this lens to anyone short of a purist. Image quality is absolutely excellent, even when an 800 print is enlarged to 8x10. It's worth the high price tag. Customer Service No experience. Similar Products Used: None. Came from a multiple-lens background, and wanted just one lens to travel with. |

Strength:
Don't have to have two lenes when hiking around.
Weakness:
Somewhat slow. Not quite as good quality picture as a fixed. This lenes gives great slides and album size pics. I scan in slides for prints. I optically project them for viewing. No one I know can tell the difference from these and ones taken with my big buck fixed lenes. A 8x10 or larger photgraphic picture is a different story. Strength:
It did it all on a trip to Africa. What a pleasure to carry one lens.
Weakness:
None so far. Great lens, easy to use, focus speed is adequate, fit in the camera bag, light weight and produces sharp images with good contrast. I make 8X10's on the computer with a HP S20 and a 722 deskjet. They came out good enough to use in a magizine. Yes I like the 28-300 Customer Service N?A Similar Products Used: N/A |

Strength:
Very flexible. No need to switch lenses in a rush.
Weakness:
Sometimes has focusing problems in low light. Great in outdoors, though. Good lens for the budget minded. Sure beats wondering what that shot might have looked like if you had time to change to that other size lens. Shop around for price. Customer Service Not yet. Similar Products Used: A friends Canon 28-105 and 100-300 lenses. They seem to focus faster. |

Strength:
Very close to a do-all lens. Good results and the price was right.
Weakness:
A bit sluggish on AF. Quality lens, good price and I do not feel as bad dragging this one through the mud, as I did with a more expensive Nikon. Similar Products Used: Nikon |

Strength:
Great focul range
Weakness:
When pointed down, the lens drops a bit. After using a Tamron 28-80 and a Canon 75-300 USM, I grew tired of replacing the lens after every shot. The Tamron lens has saved a lot of space in my camera bag. This lens is also as good if not better then the Canon lens. Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: Canon 75-300 USM II |
