Strength:
It works
Weakness:
Can't use with through the lens phase detecting focus systems, i.e., all SLR's. Works great on contrast based focusing cameras like the Lumix LX-7.

Strength:
Inexpensive, uses glass, threads fit the camera,
Weakness:
Created significant focusing problems. Purchased a Sunpak CP filter while on a trip to Boston - My camera a Fuji HS10 Is pretty new so I didn't have a chance to buy one before. I experienced the focus problem from the beginning and found it to be quite erratic but usually occurred at the max telephoto position - 30X. Played around with it at various lens zooms and lighting conditions and even found that at short distances and low zoom it sometimes rendered the auto-focus unusable.
Customer Service Mmmmm- ok I guess but could have been better. Similar Products Used: Hoya CP - was superb.with my Nikon 8800 |

Strength:
The price is great for this type of product.
Weakness:
The design of the circular polarizer makes it difficult to take off or put back on. Despite what many others have written about this product, I believe this circular polarizer is about as good as you can get for this item's price range. Also, I believe that much of the negative criticism over this product is due to the fact that many simply don't understand how a circular polarizer works.
Similar Products Used: I have not used any other polarizers before, but have researched them extensively. |

Strength:

Weakness:
Useless. Causes severe blurred images. I purchased the 72mm circular polarizer from Best Buy for my Nikon 18-200mm lens. I took a few shots with the filter in place. The images came out blurred to the extent the photos were useless. Removed the filter and all was sharp again. Don't waste your money. I did, and now I seriously regret it. |

Strength:
none Every photo I took with my new uv filer had green streaks running through out the image? Not sure what caused this but as soon as I took it off, all was good. Good thing I had my lap top with me to view photos otherwise my entire shoot would have been ruined. |

horrible filter - i got a new lens and when i shoot my first pictures with this polarizer on, i thought the lens is brocken, the images where unsharp and blurry, thought the polarizer worked fine by itself. However, the lens wasn;t broken, as i found out after removing the polarizer... |

Strength:
Cost/Price Great Value No vignetting problems @ 28mm. Great with color film.
Weakness:
Not at this price. For what it's worth, I bought this filter so long ago I don't remember how much I paid for it. I bought it more than three years ago shortly after the purchase of a Sigma 28-200. The $30 figure is really a guess. In absolute terms, I suppose one could spend three times as much money and buy a better filter. I'm not certain that it would be three times better. So why spend more? Over the years, it has served me very well. I have had no problems with it causing any flaring or vignetting, even at the shortest end (28mm) end of the zoom range. When used properly under proper conditions, it does exactly as it's supposed to. For instance, it can't deepen blue skies that aren't blue to begin with. This will provide just about any photographer with a great value unless you're on assignment from National Geographic . Customer Service Never needed. |

Strength:
Excellent quality and value. They work as good or even better than filters costing three times their price.
Weakness:
None so far. I purchased several Sunpak filters, including polarizers, skylight, and black and white contrast filters in different sizes. I purchased them because I liked their price, which is much lower than Hoya, B+W, and of course, Heliopan. Well, these filters are great, I was very impressed with the high level of quality and craftmanship that they show, these filters are very well made in Japan, and look and perform as good as filters that cost three times the price. I highly recommend this filters, and the place where I bought them online, for their excellent customer service, www.2filter.com . Customer Service Not needed, but these filters come with a "Limited Lifetime Warranty". Similar Products Used: Hoya filters, B+W filters, Heliopan filters, Nikon filters. |
