    Strength:

Very high optical quality, not only in terms of sharpness and contrast, but in flat field focus and correction of distortion...straight lines in my architectural and copy work are STRAIGHT. The compact size, convenient 52mm filter thread, top-level construction and finish throughout and a versatile focal length with a large image circle for the 4x5 film format make this lens an absolute keeper.

    Weakness:

None, unless you feel a maximum aperature of f9.0 may be a bit dim for your viewing and focusing needs. Personally, once I'm under the dark cloth, it's not an issue.

The Fujinon-A 240/9 is a most excellent lens. Though probably best suited for 4x5 and 5x7 inch film sizes, I have used it on 8x10 and found it to provide very evenly illuminated negatives, albeit with limited movements. My main film size is 4x5 and this lens has trully excelled in any and all photo applications I've subjected it to. Types of subject matter have included urban landscape, architectural detail, macro studies of natural objects (usually in the 1/3x to 1x magnification range), copying of original art works, and table-top small product work. Truly, this lens can do it all.

    Similar Products Used:

I own and use the Fujinon-A 180/9, which is a shorter focal length in the same lens series. Aside from having a smaller image circle, overall performance is pretty well identical to the 240. I use it
