Bronica RF 45mm f/4 Lens with External Viewfinder Medium Format

Bronica RF 45mm f/4 Lens with External Viewfinder Medium Format

DESCRIPTION

The Bronica 45mm f/4 Zenzanon RF lens employs a built-in shutter exclusively designed for the Bronica 645RF camera and is equivalent to 28mm in 35mm conversion with a 75.1° angle of view. The sharp, highly vivid images and high contrast make it a fine example of symmetrical wideangle lens design. Compared with the SLR camera, which requires a quick return mirror between the back of the lens and the film plane, the rangefinder camera allows for a shorter clearance to the film plane. The RF645 takes full advantage of this with symmetrical type wideangle (Super Angulon and Biogon type) optical design. This simple, straightforward design materializes compactness in chassis and improves efficiency in aberration compensation. The reduced distance to the film plane also suppresses the possibility of internal reflection, resulting in a crisper image.

Strength:

Sharpness
Lack of distortion
hood protects well

Weakness:

maybe a little vignetting wide open and a stop down

I cannot see any barrel distortion, although it may be there. Some vignetting; can't see any f8 and beyond. VERY sharp; a wonderful companion to the Bronica RF's 65mm.
