Strength:

Strengths: Useful as ~90mm (135 format) prime or short portrait lens. Sharp as any MF system lens available. K/L series had great coatings & QC; few duds. Beautiful rendition of light and subjects digital can’t match. Usually available in great condition at reasonable cost.

Weakness:

Heavy! Slow aperture at f/4.5 but very usable. Not recommended for adaption to other camera systems.

Strength:

The classic RB portrait lens. Focuses very close.

Weakness:

Beware of "bellows factor" light loss with very close focus.

Much better than early "pre-C" 180's, though not remarkably better than a recent 180/4.5 C. A 180 should be your first portait lens.

Customer Service

Mamiya is always attentive.
