Model Reviewed: SMCP-A 645 150mm f/3.5

Strength:

Very sharp. Good perspective. Reasonably priced. Almost never has lens flare!

Weakness:

None.

This is an excellent lens that I use for people pictures. It is very sharp and crisp from corner to corner at all aperatures. I do black and white in my own darkroom and the images are great. Color pictures are beautifully saturated and contrasty.

Highly recommended.

Customer Service

None on this item. Have used Pentax Colorado on other repairs and they have done good work, but are slow turn-around.

Similar Products Used:

Pentax 67 165 and 200. The Pentax 645 is a much easier camera to use than the Pentax 67, with the built in motor drive, brighter focus screen, and film nserts which make film loading easier.

Strength:

Compact, lightweight and with very good balnce on camera.Good grip and "feel" of both focusing & aperture rings.Built-in hood.Sits very steady on tripod since it´s so light.
Sharp, very sharp.
Great when you like a lens comparable in focal lenght to 100mm in 35 format.

Weakness:

...mine doesn´t autofocus, but neither does my manual 645 camera, so...
And, of course, a somewhat bigger aperture would be just great, at a price (& weight...) though.

When in need of this focal length, no need to worry with this one. There will be great results if you do YOUR part of the work well!
I haven´t used any other comparable lens f-lenght wise in 645 format, so my judgement is based simply on my experience gatting super-sharp images with this lens.
(I own the Nikon Series E 100mm/2,8, which is absolutely faboulus in sharpness (when not shooting against the light) used on my Nikon FE/F-801, so there could be a comparision made between these two.But that will include the difference in format as well as lens performance.Nevertheless, I state that I love them both within their respective formats, the Pentax beeing the better one in back-light and when larger sized pictures are to be printed.

Customer Service

Not needed.
