    Strength:

Unlimited Storage, Customer Service is incredible, User Friendly for my clients, Professional Print Lab partners are the best in the country, Easy to customize

    Weakness:

    No phone support

I've been using SmugMug Pro for over 6 years now and I've never found a better hosting and proofing site for my business. They have added so many features over the past few years that have truly made it the best and most professional site out there to use for online proofing for a photography business. My clients always comment how incredibly easy it is to order prints and how well organized the system is. I would highly recommend SmugMug for any professional photographer looking to host their photos online for their clients to view! If you are signing up, be sure to use a $5 off coupon code: 7g9e01Kk2OUDM

    Customer Service

Customer service is fantastic and quick! I only wish they had phone support on certain issues.

    Strength:

    1. No limit to the amount of JPEGs I can upload. I like that.
    2. I love the big space that I have to caption below a photo. It is big. I have written paragraphs
    3. I like the way my images look on SmugMug. The background. All of it.

    Weakness:

Still am not crazy about the image organizing framework. Have to play with it some more and find out if I can get around something that bugs me: Cannot create subcats inside subcats. Can only have Categories, Sub Categories and Galleries. So if I am understanding this.....I only have three levels of organization. Anyway, maybe it will be ok. I have to work with it some more. Not a big problem and just maybe.....it might only be a problem because I do not understand it.

I am finally beginning to enjoy SmugMug. It took a long time. Too complex to explain every detail of what i do and do not like.

Just created a gallery of really old images of part of my family that has been gone for years now. I scanned the old black and whites and uploaded them. then I spent some time with some captioning. And I shed a lot of tears too.

Smug Mug Sucks! I cannot cancel my account and they just keep taking my money every month. Shame on me for letting it happen, but their so-called "heroes" of customer service are anything but.

    Strength:

    - Costs less than many other hosting sites.
    - More tools than most other sites.
    - Excellent customer service. I interracted with them at least 4 times. Every time was quick and helpful.
    - Easy to use. I figured out all the tricks by myself, quickly. I glanced at their huge help section but didn't need it. Everything was smooth.
    - Easy going staff, easy to interact with.
    - smugmug does not claim rights to my photos like many other services do, even if you're just ordering a personal print. They treat me like an artist instead of cash cow.

    Weakness:

Hard to say when they work so hard to make a great service, then spend lots of time putting even more functionality in the site. They listen to their customers!

I can't say enough good things about smugmug. I bought the Pro photo hosting package.

    Customer Service

    AWESOME!

    Strength:

There are no storage limits at all and the photos are as safe as is currently possible.

The company is very well-known for its help desk and customer service. You should never ever be afraid to ask anything that is not clear. Within minutes you'll get an answer through their e-mail help desk our via their online forum (at www.dgrin.com).

The site for pros is very customizable in many many ways with lots of options (to sell photos, watermark them etc. etc.).

They work together with only the best of the best pro labs to give the best top-notch prints, cards, merchandise in the whole world.

They are up 99% of the time (depending upon your ISP and local situation that is and depending upon the dial speed).

They have an eye for beautiful and aesthetically pleasing things. Yes, they do have a passion for photography and you will know it!

    Weakness:

The incorporation of the social media (Twitter and Facebook) goes slowly but not every photographer is into this too...

They are still struggling to find out how to get into the images section of the major search engines (like Google Image search) but they do very well on the common search engines (BTW or FYI, lots of photo sharing websites have this problem of getting into 'image search' too, except, seemingly, Flickr).

They need to iron out minor bugs and make sure to beta test everything more thoroughly before launching or releasing updates and new additions. The minor bugs are at times irritating.

They need to make sure their hardware follows their ever and fast growing membership so that the uptime is above 99% (which it currently seems to be) and fast loads of our pictures (which is currently not an issue but has been occasionaly for some).

They should watch out for the Facebook photo features and storage capacities. Facebook might become the next Flickr of photos...

As a professional photographer we want to make sure our photos look great and are safe. Very safe.

At first I had a Flickr account but as they had not enough privacy settings I looked for other photo hosting services. The one that came out as the best (for me) was SmugMug.

    Customer Service

Top notch and unbeatable so far. They go to extremes to serve and help you out. But you pay for it too (as a pro). Imho they absolutely deserve it!!

Flickr is perhaps the most well-known web site for photo sharing. SmugMug is not really about photo sharing but gives pro photographers (and every other person in the world) a way to show photos online in a superb way.

    Weakness:

Finding information about the different plans (standard, power, pro)
Recently, customer service seemed to be slow to respond. In the past it has been great, so I'm not sure if it's been a fluke or if they've gone downhill.

After trying several photo sharing sites and having many others share photos for me to view, I think smugmug.com is the best. It's simple to upload photos and videos. Unlimited capacity is great. I can easily keep my photos organized. Sharing with others is a breeze.

I think viewing shared photos with smugmug is much better than many sites. It's quick to load and it's easier to navigate and see photos. The "thumbnails" are large enough that you can see the photo well.

I'm using the "Power" account, which allows me to share video and customize my site.

Easy buying for customers, nice interface, and simple to use.

    Weakness:

    CUSTOMER SERVICE

Decent hosting, but serious lack for complete customization and on the site that you pay $150 for THEY PROMOTE THEIR HOSTING ON YOUR WEBSITE. It's just ridiculous..

    Customer Service

AWFUL - They answer about half of y questions and they're short, sarcastic replies that assure me they're doing something about when really they're just discarding and forgetting.

    Strength:

    Customer Service
    Customization
    Makes You $$$
    Looks Professional

    Weakness:

    Fairly High Cost
    Lack of Name Recognition

I bought my most recent Pro subscription with a 20% discount--if interested in buying, definitely google "smugmug coupon" and see what comes up. They used to offer a 50% discount to Flickr users, which is how I got my first Pro account.

I have never used Smugmug simply as a photo hosting service; I have always used Smugmug to sell pictures, and it absolutely excels at this. You will not find better customer service, because if it existed, the customer service at Smugmug is so good and so 'on your side' that it would refer whatever the better customer service is to you. I have sent them e-mails with questions about orders, etc, and I always got a personal e-mail back within 24 hours.

Also, the UI is pretty friendly and easy to use, customize, manage. And--this is pretty cool--for some reason you end up getting lots of really cool free stuff if you pay attention to their "news" section. I got a free Smugmug camera strap almost 3 years ago, and I am still using it (far superior quality to Nikon straps).

Last, while the cost for a Pro account is a bit high at $150, it is very easy to make that money back, even as an amateur photographer like I was when I got my first account. Just make business cards with your name and smugmug address and find some events to cover!!

I have used smugmug for more than a year and have been truly satisfied. The galleries look wonderful with many options of customisation. Best of all is the unlimited storage. The ability to control who has access to different galleries is also a plus
