We are not allowed to use profanity; rightly so, but this product is certainly worth some choice words. My experience has been for the most part the same as others unfortunate enough to purchase one. Expensive ink cartridges coupled with the consumption rate of a large SUV. In addition it stopped printing and says it's out of ink even though the cartridges are new. Epson should just consider making expensive targets for the shooting range because that's about all this product is good for. I work in the quality department of a large manufacturing company if this was one of our products I would be ashamed to produce it.

    Strength:

    Semi-Good Print Quality

    Weakness:

Ink prices and thier 'smart chip' Also many other print problems This might possibly be the most TROUBLESOME Printer I have ever come across, even including some dot-matrix printers I've had to fix in my day.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER!!! What a hassle. I had 4 'defective ink cartridges' because of thier stupid microchip in the ink. The price wasn't that bad because it was bought with a New PC, but talk about trouble. When the ink problem was finally resolved, 3 months later the print heads died, and NOTHING would print.

    Customer Service

The People at Epson were pretty good both times I had to contact them. I called from my Cell so that i wouldn't be charged a LOST DISTANCE call. They don't even have an 800 number. The first time my printer died they sent me a replacement unit free of charge, and then the second time they said that it must be a 'hardware failure' and that they would upgrade my printer to a CX4800 and also sent that free of charge. Hopefully this new one will work better and not crap out like this one did. Overall the people are very friendly, and response time is quite quick, but you can't call on the weekends, only mon-fri 6-6.
