Model Reviewed: Standard Ball Head II

Strength:

Easy to adjust, able to handle weight of CANON A-1 and 75-300mm zoom lens without drift or falloff. Nice and stable overall. I would take a ballhead over a standard tripod anyday...quicker to set up and grab a shot when you're racing for a sunset or sunrise!

Weakness:

The only things I don't like is screwing the camera onto it (but that goes with most tripods, unless you get something like Really Right Stuff connectors), and the fact that you have to only use one ballhead position in order to shoot in a more downward direction (it just takes a quick twist to get to the right spot on the ballhead--no big deal).

This was highly recommended to me by several professionals, and although it took a little running around to pair it with BOGEN legs (they are incompatible and so have to be "made" compatible in a machine shop), I am truly happy and totally satisfied with it.
