A mount with a split ring is both the fastening point for your tripod strap and a place to hang a camera bag or other stabilizing weight. The included shoulder strap is very nice with a quick clip fastener and it has grippy rubber strands woven on the inside surface. The ball head platform includes three set screws for a secure mount. With free shipping, I bought this tripod from www.cameraworld.com for $349... excellent buying experience. mobile mechanic Weakness:

Compared to some newer DSLRs, I find the noise a little too noticeable. especially when shooting in dark settings (indoors or night shots) or at high ISO. User manual could have a better index... at times, trailer repair Weakness:

in the main compartment i can fit everything i need for traveling, and more than i need for each time i get out of the car to wander around. i suppose i will be kind of general with the cameras i have in there. i only have manual focus primes and the longest are normal lenses so thats probably part of the reason i feel like i have so much space. okay, Spring Hill Truck Repair Weakness:

not stable enough above 100 or 200 mm This is a very good and lightweight hiking tripod for outdoor and landsape photography. I use it together with a German FLM/Statec Centerball CB38T ballhead. The build quality is superb and the leg locks are very good. Just turn 'em gently and don't apply any force. Very precise ! Although this combo carries a total load of 4 kg, I don't use it above 100 or 200 mm. It is perfect for my Leica M6 + lenses or my R-System up to the 2.8/100. For heavier loads, e.g. R7/R8+Motor Drive+2,8/70-180 or 2,8/280 I use the Gitzo CF 1325 + Burzynski Ballhead (http://www.naturfotograf.com/burzynski.html). A perfect and lightweight hiking/travelling tripod. But if you can afford just one tripod, go for the 1325 and use 2 ballheads. A heavier/sturdier one like the Burzynski or the Arca Swiss B1 (1 kg) and a lighter one (400gms) for hiking. Or if that's too expensive, try the 1227. The 1127 is definately better and more stable than the 1128 with 4 sections.
