Master Classic Tripod
Strength:
Fairly inexpensive tripod. Sturdy and not too heavy, comes with a nice 3-way pan/tilt head. Has been reliable even with a high level of abuse.
Weakness:
Slik's customer service leaves much to be desired (tried contacting for a strap listed with the MasterClassic documentation - doesn't exist in the US). Tripod's not quite tall enough (I'm 6'1"), and doesn't drop for ground-level shotting. Some anodizing has worn off after two years use. Probably most frustrating, Slik doesn't use same size screw (for replacing the stock pan/tilt head) as other, more popular brands. Good value entry-level to intermediate use tripod. Very sturdy for the weight, but you'll need to upgrade when you buy that 600/4... Customer Service Difficult to get answers from Tocad (US distributor); had to query people in Japan for product info.
