Slik Pro 340DX Tripod Tripods

Slik Pro 340DX Tripod Tripods

DESCRIPTION

The Slik Pro 340DX is a complete all-metal tripod setup that's effective for lightweight travel duty when one desires a professional feel. The A.M.T. super titanium alloy legs make the Pro 340DX tripod rock steady yet lighter than it looks. The A. M. T. alloy has a 40% greater strength to weight ratio than standard aluminum, meaning the legs are lighter weight yet stronger than the standard metal used in most of today's tripods.

This is a very good camera for a beginner.I bought it when I decided to go from point and shoot cameras to SLR. I chose N60 as it was the least expensive.I have tried all kinds of lights and exposures and the pictures were phenomenal ( except the ones which were messed up by me). Strength:

it's a crying shame that Nikon decided to axe it in favour of the rather lukewarm hybrid that was the FM3, and surprising that Nikon of all people should have so badly assessed the market with its pronounced tendency towards digital (even then). concrete contractor

Incorrect advertised max load

I Just purchased this tripod (legs only)for a trip I leave on tomorrow. I paid an additional $27 for express delivery. A major factor in my decision was the load capacity since I do have some heavy equipment. B&H and this review site claim a max load of 11 lbs. However, I was shocked to see that the documentation that came with the tripod says the max load is 6lbs 10 oz. (3kg). That is a huge difference! I checked the website of the U.S.A. Slik supplier and it says 11 lbs. So, I called the supplier and they said 8.8 lbs. I think this is outrageous. The company claims three different max loads in their manual, online, and on the phone. Looks like Slik can not be trusted. I now have atripod that may be useless and am out the extra shipping. I do not blame B&H since they and several other sites, including this one, got their info from the Slok (THK) site.
