Strength:
Very sturdy and not too heavy, 4-way pan/tilt head, priced reasonably well, great for travelling (with a small tripod bag), easy flip-and-release leg locks, reversable center column for copy work, accepts two kinds/sizes of sockets, quick -release top plate, and my favorite...two bubble levels. This tripod will probably last me a lifetime if I treat it well. It's a quality product, and was money well spent.
Weakness:
None I can see. The perfect 35mm tripod (for me, anyway). Here's why.... Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: N/A |

Strength:
Solid construction Very stable
Weakness:
None for purposes intended Since purchasing this product a couple of months ago, I have shot near 100% of my outdoor photos with it. Very stable, at all angles, with Elan 7, 75-300 zoom, and 420 EX flash. Pictures extremely sharp up to 10 x 15 inches (haven't made any larger than 10x15 thus far). Love this tripod. Strength:
Tall Light Great performance, low price. Latch locks (not twist) Great quick release. Multi-angle Legs
Weakness:
None that I can think of. We don't get ice or snow in the winter, so the lack of ice points is not a weakness to me. This tripod is an excellent bargain. Bogen and Gitzo equivalents are twice as much. It's a very sturdy and tall tripod. There's really no need to use the extension unless you need a high angle. Plus, it's rather light for it's size. The leg's can be set to three different angles, which is useful. And I personally like the Pan/Tilt head, although a ball head would be more to my liking. I do plan on purchasing one soon. The quick release plate is great. |

Strength:
Sturdy, tall, reasonably light for it''s size and strength. I like the reversing center and ability to change heads. The multi position legs lock solidly in place. No tinkering with twist lock legs.
Weakness:
Wish it came with the optional short center but thats asking for to much at it''s price. A carry bag or sling could have been included since it is light enough for field trips. Good price, excellent quick shoe design. Sturdy construction and reversable center. The leg latches are easier to use and lock better than most twist lock types. Wish it came with the shorter center spoke and the long one. Very sturdy and works well in a studio but light enough to be field carried. Overall a very good tripod for the money ( or just a little more money to ) Customer Service not needed Similar Products Used: Manfrotto heavy tripods, Velbon and Optex video tripods. |

Strength:
very sturdy and surprisingly light
Weakness:
Fast adjustments are just not possible. Pan head instead of ball(some would see this as a strength) I am definetly pleased with how sturdy it is, but for the type of work I do it just takes to long to adjust. I would recomend it for any outdoor photographer. It is light and when collapsed not very large. When you compare what $160 will get you from say Bogen, Slik is the bargan you're looking for. I'm not sorry I bought this tripod but I do wish I would have done more research on heads and how they perform. Customer Service ? Similar Products Used: velbon (junk) |

Height!
Weakness:
A little slow to set up. A graet value for the price. It allowes me (6+ feet) to use my camera w/o stooping or extending the center column. Similar Products Used: various |

Strength:
Light; very sturdy; EZ to use quick-lock legs; very tall; good quick release.
Weakness:
Pan/tilt head; no ice points on legs; won't get low without short center column. A very sturdy unit. It folds small but can be set up plenty high. The leg locks make a quick set-up. I wish it had retractable ice points, but a little work with some epoxy putty and sharpened 1/4" bolts made a workable substitute. I don't care for the pan/tilt head (despite the fact that I like the P/T head on my Slik U212). It is difficult to set up and shoot vertically and won't tilt sky-ward to any appreciable degree in horizontal format. I have a Slik Pro 800 ball head on order. The quick release mechanism is very nice - much better than that on the Bogen 3055. It allows movement of the camera before being locked down; it's a secure mechanism and it is easy to mount the camera in place quickly with no chance of a dangerous placement. Overall, I'm very pleased with the unit and would recommend it to any level photographer. Customer Service Adorama exchanged a Bogen for it with no problem. Similar Products Used: Slik U212 tripod; |

Strength:
Best value. Easy operation. Nice pan head.
Weakness:
No problems. Pan head is made of lots of plastic, but that helps keep the weight down. I would purchase this tripod again. No problems in supporting: 80-200 2.8, 400mm 5.6. Customer Service No Problems. Similar Products Used: None |
