Strength:

cheap
lightweight

Weakness:

everything

This is not a real tripod. Everything about it wiggles and comes loose- I'm fairly sure that having no tripod is better than using this tipsy pod. I got it free with something- I forget what...camcorder? It is however very lightweight- you probably need to weight it down with a book or rock on a string, but then the head clamp is wiggly. Terrible, I don't consider it an accessory for any type of meaningful work. New, it is loose, used, it gets looser.

Strength:

it's light

Weakness:

not really stable
legs slip on wet smooth surface (like a balcony)

Now that I have a tele lens, I see how terrible unstable this thing is. Just a little wind makes it shake. But it should be usable for camcorders. For photography, I am going to buy a REAL tripod soon. (Type of photography I do: weather/lightning, nighttime and macro)

Small, lightweight

Weakness:

REALLY CHEAP construction

OK, whatever you do DON'T buy this tripod. I have had it for 5+ years (since I was shooting with a P/S) and it has been nothing but trouble. First, after about a year and a half of VERY limited use, the plastic mechanisim used to tighten the vertical panning of the head cracked and eventually broke off. I ordered a replacement through a local retailer, but it took over two months to get a replacement! Then the same thing happened again about three months ago (ie fall 99), literally as I was puting it in the car to go to the mountains to shoot the fall leaves! This time I made a crude fix myself, but now 4/6 of the leg-tightning levers have cracked and will not hold the weight of my N50, not to mension the F4s I occasionally use! ARGHHHH

Customer Service

Strength:

lightweight,carry-on convenience, good for aps cameras w/o zoom lens if you tighten the pan handle a little:warning it will snap...

Weakness:

Plastic pan head will crack/break eventually

Had this tripod for 4 months of use before its pan head cracked on me at the Arc De Triomphe while on a night shoot!! Do'nt buy this tripod instead consider the higher end Slik Snapman Deluxe tripod at B&h $99.

Strength:

Light, fast setup and release.

Weakness:

the platform screw becomes loose and has
to be tightened occasionally.
weak structure, tightening handle cracked
and broke while moving the stand in a van.

don't waste your money on this. invest a little more and buy a sturdier one.

Customer Service

don't have much info on their web-site
no phone, no local service addresses. I
am trying to find a replacement.

Strength:

- light weight
- affordable
- fits in medium sized backpacks
- fast setup and release

Weakness:

- plastic pan head breaks too easily
- too many plastic parts!

This tripod is okay for photographers with light camera equipment and a very low budget. Otherwise spend some more money and get a tripod of better quality.

Customer Service

I tried to get the broken part replaced at Wolf Camera. They said it's not worth to fix it and that I have to toss it away. When I sent an email to tocadamerica@email.msn.com describing my situation they offered me to replace the part for free!
