Strength:

Sturdy construction
2 Quick Release Plates included
Monopod included
74" max height
Quick Flip Leg Locks & Leg Brace
Bubble Levels

Weakness:

Weighty & bulky for backpackers, hikers

Being 6'1" tall, it was difficult for me to photograph nature, especially birds, with my Slik tripod. This Sunpak PlatinumPlus extends to 74" max height, making it easy for me to photo birds and other high or tall objects. The unit is well constructed and provides a very steady platform for the camera and telephoto lenses. Unlike my old Slik tripod with ball head, this uses a quick release plate, which will take me some time getting used to. The unit comes with two plates, so for those with two cameras there will be no need to be swapping plates between cameras (additional plates are available). The unit is weighty and bulky, which I like, but if you're looking for a unit for backpacking, hiking, etc., this may not be for you. But if you want a solid, steady unit, this one is worth considering.
