Strength:

Carbon Fiber, great construction, very solid, extremely light, just as good as a Gitzo at half the price and looks like it might take more of beating. Excellent twist locks too.

Weakness:

The only thing I would have liked is a spiked foot with a rubber boot, otherwise not a sigle complaint.

It doesn''t get much simpler than a monopod! This one is carbon fiber, 4 section, with a double thread size mounting screw, and wrist strap. Weighs almost nothing and is incredibly strong. I was originally going to get a Gitzo carbon fiber, but the 250-300 price tag was a bit of deterent. I didn''t even know about this Velbon till I was in the store. This is by far the best deal in monopods out there. The comparable gitzo is twice the price and heavier. This is made just as well and much lighter. I''ve used it many times already with my 300 mm lens and on both 35 and 6x6 cameras. It does a wonderful job. It''s not even flexable, it''s that strong. The comparable Bogen was a piece of junk IMO compared to this one. Bottom line this is a pro piece at an intermediate price. Great work Velbon, I think I am going to buy one of the 630 or 640 Tripods now!

Haven''t needed, and don''t think I ever will.

Never used and others, but I tried all the others in the stores for hours, maybe I''m too picky.
