Strength:

Dampens quickly. My tripod came with a "stone bag" which straps to the three legs for adding weight. This does not compromise use of the center column by adding weight there.

Weakness:

None so far...after 2 1/2 years of use.

Probably the last tripod I will buy unless I drive a tank over it.

Customer Service

Strength:

Super light and portable
Incredibly compact when folded
Very strong and stable

Weakness:

None noted at all.

This is a pretty amazing tripod. As I obtained mine in the UK, it carries a 'Sherpa Pro 6400' label, but is identical to the US model going under the 'Carmagne' name. It is extraordinarily compact... almost fits into a briefcase, yet extends to a good height. Stability and damping are excellent. Better than most tripods at 10 times the weight. Construction quality seems to be outstanding. Leg locks are fast and tough (better than the Manfrotto/Bogen or Gitzo, IMHO). Velbon can be easily overlooked, but in this case, that would be a mistake. This is a truly superb tripod at a great price. Very highly recommended indeed.
