Strength:

Robust for the money. Small size make it ideal for taking on hiking or kayaking trips. Good snorkelling camera. Picked it up for $100 CDN.

Weakness:

Film counter is not very accurate, but I have seen this with other underwater cameras as well.

I was impressed with the camera. Next time I was at the Camera shop I bought 10 and had my Christmas shopping done for the season in one go.

Strength:

Greatest strength is exactly as it is marketed as, "Waterproof camera." It is one of the smallest in it's class as well. Built well, and the images are not too bad. Very simple to use, and you can't beat the price. It's almost a no brainer.

Weakness:

Lens is not the greatest, but I suspect that people interested in this camera are not interested in 16x20 blow ups. Camera shutter release is slow. The camera needs a moment to think before it fires.

My interest in this camera was it's ability to go under water. I experimented w/ some disposables and loved the images from under water. Under water shots are beautiful and abstract, especially if you stop to point it toward the surface once in awhile. It was cheap, and I thought it would make a nice gift for my wife. If you vacation a lot, or very active in swimming at the beach, hiking in the hills, then this is the camera for you. It is a sports camera in that sense. It is not a good camera if you are trying to capture sports. The camera is built very well and is secure. I've never have had any probs w/ leakage. Follow the direction on care and you will not have any problems. Surprisingly enough the plastic lens in front of the real lens has never been scratched, but I take great care not to throw it in the sand or mud as it is designed to withstand.

Strength:

Small, weatherproof, sturdy.

Weakness:

I found loading the film at high altitudes was a pain. Other than that it a great camera.

One of the nicest camera's I've ever used. Great for a beginner or a a casual photographer. My camera broke on a cross country vacation, picked up the Sure Shot in Las Vegas for $70 (new!) What a steal. Takes great pictures. I recommend it to everyone.

Very rugged outer exterior.

Lot's of redeye

I received this camera for my birthday about 4 years ago.(well I asked for it). I use it probably every week, either at the cottage, bars, party's, you name it. I have used it in the water 50% of the time and have had no problems. One time I had some water droplets on the film. I think I had a peice of sand on the rubber liner, or it was moisture from taking in and out of the hottub in winter. Word of advice, clean internally with canned air after every roll. If this camera broke, I would go out and buy another that day. Takes the best above ground pictures also.

Strength:

Rugged and waterproof.

Weakness:

Took it down to a depth of 15 feet and it stopped working! It dried out after a few days and has been fine since. I would not use this camera under water.

This is a great snapshot camera for wet conditions. The autofocus and exposure breaks down a bit in a super bright situation. I have used this camera with 400 film for surfing photos right in the impact zone and it really works as long as the sun is at your back. Seems to like Kodak film better than Fuji which tends to come out a little dark. If you need a not too expensive camera for rugged conditions like boating and backpacking this is the one to take. I'd buy another if they came out with a longer lens.

Strength:

the 32mm f3.5 lens is increadibly sharp. camera is waterproof and has worked excellently in water parks, on skip trips for me. Camera is well constructed and feels great in the hand.

Weakness:

No zoom.

BUY it. It's so inexpensive but offers sooooooo much functionality. Great all-around take anywhere, do anything camera. I bought another one for my 10-yr old and he loves it.

Strength:

the autofocus is superaccurate and quite intuitive. Easy to handle with diving gloves on and the viewfinder is easy to use even with a dive mask on.Exposure is spot on.Really sharp lens too.Colourscheme makes it easy to find.

Weakness:

Flash is rather a joke-unable to deliver any degree of fill at 4m on a bright day. but I guess you can't have everything at this price

I bought this camera so I could get some shots of my friends and I while diving. Maybe do some close-to-the surface work. The manual warns you against taking it below 5m. On my second dive I acccidentally took it down to 13m, tucked in the pocket of my buoyancy compensator. And it kept on working!!
The camera is supersharp, the autofocus works underwater and the flash is effective to about 2.5m at 3m depth.
Sure it's not a Nikonos, but at the price it's a steal.
What a sleeper!

Strength:

It is waterproof and durable in the impact zone of waves. It works very well in harsh conditions

Weakness:

slow shutter speed (it has to think about what it is doing before it takes the picture)

it works well when doing extreme sports like surfing, snowboarding, boating etc. I took it in 10 ft. surf impact zones and it performed well. Over all great camera for money

Strength:

I have taken this camera everywhere.. and the photographs are amazing for a point and shoot. I have taken some photos that are postcard quality and some that have been blown up and framed. Great camera!

Weakness:

Very slow when using the flash. I have missed many unbelievable moments on waiting for that silly camera. No zoom.

Great camera for anyone who wants an easy waterproof camera that will produce nice results.

Customer Service

Haven't needed it until about two weeks ago.. went snorkeling and the seal leaked (I'm sure it was my fault).

Strength:

This camera takes amazing pictures. The autofocus is very quick and appears very accurate based on the dozen or so rolls of film through it.

Very nice size and very easy to use.

Weakness:

I think it has been said before but the flash popping out of the side takes some getting used to. Also the flash seems to illuminate one side better than the other.

The battery door is a bit flimsy given the rest of the finish on the camera.

I bought this camera for my wife so I could get my Olympus back. I based my decision to purchase on the comments on this site and other research. She has been very happy with the camera and the quality of pictures, especially the outdoor photos, are very good comparable to or better than my pentax SLR. The results speak for the camera.
