Strength:

Simple and cheap underwater camera. Nice accessories available.

Weakness:

To simple, batteries have a tendancy to not fit well in my camera and come loose. Minimum focus point is too distant for such a wide angle lens, flash tends to give a weird square shape to backscatter.

OK for a point and shoot in clear water.

Strength:

Good beginners system. You can use it automatically underwater with almost no adjustments needed.

Weakness:

My first camera leaked but Sea & Sea replace it by mail in 2 days.
The additional lenses are useful but are a bit fiddly to use.

I don't think there is a better beginners underwater camera around. The camera is certainly better than a beginner underwater photographers so the many poor photos you get are due to the complexities of underwater photography, not the camera.

Customer Service

Model Reviewed: MX-10 Undewater Camera with YS-40A Flash

Strength:

there are only a few underwater around that it's good to have one when it's available. Having a permanent one instead of the one time use cameras realy does help financialy for the hardcore scuba diver like me. Has a good flash feature which other rarely have. A must to use underwater. Don't assume that there are enough lighting unless you have this camera.

Weakness:

the depth is not the best but still a lot better then the ones out there. be careful, don't go further then what it was designed to be for that one photo. better to keep the rest of film and pass that one photo.

good but pricey. Only need it if you go underwater a lot or you are rich and just want another cool toy. perhaps buying a case for a normal camera from a scuba shop is also profitable instead of a whole new camera. 3 stars because it's hard to compare it to others of it's type since there are so few of underwater cameras.

Customer Service

never tried to call them

no other product was ever used that was for underwater unless you count the one time use cameras.
