Strength:

-ease of operation
-availability of accessories
-you can change lens under water (Nikonos are cool but they can't do that!)
-looks more impressive than a Nikon Coolpix in clear acrylic
-inexpensive to get used since everyone is going digital

Weakness:

-discontinued, no more factory support
-larger and more awkward than a digital
-if you use the strap the camera hangs sideways from your neck. never did understand the logic of that
-places that develop film are getting harder to find. Not as hard as finding and developing 110 film but getting closer to trying to get film your your Polaroid

I picked this up on a bid on Ebay for under $30, including shipping, 3 years ago. I own 11 different underwater film cameras (mostly Sea & Sea and Nikonos) and this is by far my favorite. It has more features than the Motor Marine 2 and since its lens mount is the same as the MM2 it fits more attachments than the Motor Marine 3. Since film cameras are limited in the number of photos they can take in a given dive (compared to digital) I'll take two or three cameras on a photo dive. That I can put a macro lens on one MM2, a wide angle on another and a super wide angle on a 3rd and swap them around as needed during the dive I'm far less limited in what I can shoot. I paid $500 for my first MM2 new 20 years ago, if people keep putting them on ebay for under $100 I'm getting a few more.
