Summary:
I bought this program because I wanted a simple, straight-forward album for my digital images. I tried many others....all very fancy, but not easy to use and most looked like contact sheets. This program is great for what it does: an easy way to make and share photo albums, publish albums to web pages, develop slide shows, and send portable players (albums) to others. The photoeditor seems a bit weak/unwieldy to me, so I use Microsoft Picture IT 2000! to adjust my photos and save them as .TIF files. Then I use PhotoRecall to put them in albums, slide shows, portable players.

Strengths:
Ease of use. Does simple albums, web pages, and slide shows extremely well!

Weaknesses:
A bit pricey for the functionality. Photoeditor is weak. Wish that the picture stats/info automatically transfered to image textfields in the program. Number of text fields per picture is limited. No bells and whistles.

Summary:
PhotoRecall 3.0 is a good device for the storage of your photo files, but has a major drawback when it comes to high volume editing and printing in PhotoShop. I frankly am a bit suprised that the software engineers made it difficult to use the premier photo editing system. First and formost was the inability of the storage system to make a file - From the Albums - that could be directly imported/opened in Adobe PhotoShop. The pictures directly from the photo albums needed to be changed - one at a time - to jpeg bitmap format. There was no provision to do a selective mass update of your files to a compatible PhotoShop format. Yes I know this can be done in the PhotoRecall darkroom, but this is only good for the initial unloading or your files. This problem could have been solved by specifying the format in which your pictures could be originally saved, but such a choice does not exist in PhotoRecall. This drawback wrote off this system for my use, but on the positive side, it did have nice slide shows.

Summary:
I am a new user of PhotoRecall 3.0. I find its Portable Player and Slide Show functions very user friendly. Overall, I give the program very good marks. I wish I could rename the original photo file from within the program. The picture name is only assigned within the database file and does not affect the original image file name. Other than that, it works very well.
